Thalaivi, the highly-anticipated biopic on legendary yesteryear heroine and former Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa is carrying good expectations among the audience. Starring Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut in the titular role, the film is aiming for a pan-India release on April 23rd.
Meanwhile, the latest news coming in from Bollywood media is that the film’s Hindi version may not have a smooth release in Mumbai and across the state of Maharashtra due to two main reasons. While one of them is due to the sudden spike in the Covid-19 cases in the state, the other one is Kangana comparing Mumbai city with POK ( Pakistan-occupied Kashmir) in her office demolished issue.
Now, with Thalaivi’s release in the next couple of weeks, Mumbai is in no mood to welcome the film’s release and may cause a dent in revenues, fear the film distributors and exhibitors across Maharashtra. We have to wait and see how Thalaivi makers will face the hurdles in Mumbai and Maharashtra in the coming days.
Being made as a Tamil-Hindi bilingual, the film will have a simultaneous release in Telugu. Thalaivi has been directed by AL Vijay and produced by Vishnu Vardhan Induri and Shaailesh R Singh.
