After the Covid first wave crisis, the theatres across twin Telugu states in 2020 with the December released Sai Dharam Tej’s youthful entertainer, Solo Brathuke So Better. Continuing the same momentum, from January 2021, noted films started hitting the silver screens. Starting with Ravi Teja’s Krack, Ram Pothineni’s RED, Kollywood star Vijay’s Master, Bellamkonda Sai Srinivas’ Alludu Adhurs released during the Sankranthi 2021. Later, in February and March also, Tollywood witnessed blockbuster hits like Uppena, Jathi Ratnaalu. In the second week of April, Powerstar Pawan Kalyan’s comeback film, Vakeel Saab also released on April 9th.
But three weeks later, the COVID second wave saw a sudden spike across the country and again the movie theatres are closed till June end. Post-Covid second wave break, all the movies started releasing back to back at a fast pace. Especially, in December, big-budget movies like Akhanda, Pushpa, Shyam Singha Roy have hit the screens. As the year is about to end in a couple of days, now, we bring you the list of the Top 10 Highest collected Movies in 2021.
Released on December 17th, star hero Allu Arjun and director Sukumar’s rustic drama, Pushpa-The Rise has been generating massive revenues. Released as a pan-India film in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi versions, Pushpa collected close to Rs 126 crore in eleven days at the Indian box office. We have to wait and see how much will the film collect by the end of its final run.
Released on April 9th, Pawan Kalyan’s Vakeel Saab collected a closing share of Rs 85.61 crore. Directed by Venu Sriram, the film was produced by Dil Raju. Box office verdict of Vakeel Saab is above-average.
Nandamuri Balakrishna and director Boyapati Seenu’s hattrick blockbuster, Akhanda collected a worldwide share of Rs 68.97 crore. As of now, the film is a super hit at the box office and we need to see how much more will it collect by the end of its full run.
Released in February, Uppena starring Mega hero Vaishnav Tej and young beauty Krithi Shetty as the lead pair ended up as a super hit at the box office. Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Uppena had collected Rs 51.52 crore share in its full run.
Starring Ravi Teja and Shruti Haasan as the lead pair, Krack is an intense cop drama. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the film had collected Rs 39.16 crore at the box office and ended up as the biggest grosser in Ravi Teja’s career.
Released in March, Jathi Ratnalu starring Naveen Polishetty, Rahul Ramakrishna, Priyadarshini, Faria Abdullah in the prominent roles, the film had collected Rs 38.52 crore share and ended up as the biggest blockbuster in small/medium range films.
Directed by Sekhar Kammula, Love Story starring Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi as the lead pair collected Rs 35.16 crore share and ended up as a commercial hit at the box office.
Starring Akhil Akkineni and Pooja Hegde as the lead pair, MEB collected Rs 23.75 crore share and ended up as a hit at the box office. Bommarillu Bhaskar directed the film.
Hero Nani and director Rahul Sankrityan’s semi-period drama, Shyam Singha Roy was released on December 24th. As per the trade reports, the film has collected a share of Rs 19 crore in four days and is expected to collect close to Rs 25 crore by the end of its full run. Sai Pallavi and Krithi Shetty are the female leads in the movie.
Starring Ram Pothineni in the lead role, RED was directed by Kishore Tirumala. The film was released during Sankranthi 2021 and had collected Rs 19.79 crore share at the box office.
