Telugu movies a few years back have set examples for the other industries. We have been making quality movies off late and other industries have shown interest in our movies. However, from the past couple of years, it is the Malayalam cinema which is ruling the roost. Quality of cinema, the novelty in stories, sincerity in narration is making Malayalam cinema great again. Now Tollywood is in awe of Malayalam movies. Apparently, there have been many movies that are being remade in Telugu.

First of the lot is Satyadev’s Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya which is remade from Malayalam hit movie Maheshinte Prathikaram. Fahad Fasil played the lead role in the original. Uma Maheshwara Ugra Roopasya will be releasing on July 15th on Netflix. It is already known that Chiranjeevi is remaking the movie Lucifer which was made with Mohan Lal in the lead role.

Sithara Entertainments have bagged the remake rights of Malayalam’s latest super hits Ayyappanum Koshiyum and Kappela. PVP Entertainments have bought the remake rights of Helen. There are plans to remake the Driving License in Telugu as well. We have to see how these Malayalam remakes will perform in Telugu.
