Tollywood’s crisis with lack of solid talent continues

Tollywood has a lot of talent, in the form of promising young heroes, comedians, supporting actors, etc. However, there is one area that Tollywood has been experiencing a major crisis in, and that’s with the lack of talented actresses.

There are very few actresses in the industry who are from a Telugu speaking background, and even these actresses rarely get any major offers. Most of our actresses are from Mumbai, or Punjab, or any other North Indian state. We even have actresses from Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Kerala, but not from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

While the lack of local talent is one issue, the lack of promising talent is another one. There hasn’t been one single breakthrough actress in the last few years, and the ones who have been working before that are only working even now. Tollywood used to have an inflow of talent very regularly, previously. However, in the last few years, there hasn’t been a single promising actress, and most of them have turned out to be one film wonders. More and more actresses are making their debut in Telugu, but very few are able to make a mark. Here’s hoping that things will change here on.
