Tollywood Unions vs Producers: Shootings Halted Indefinitely

The dispute between Tollywood Unions and Telugu producers has brought film shootings to a standstill for the past week.

The problem started when the unions suddenly demanded a 30% wage hike, which producers strongly opposed. Several rounds of discussions were held over the week, but no agreement was reached.

In response, major producers decided to form their own teams for various departments, a process that will take time.

On Sunday, hundreds of union workers staged a protest at the Film Chamber. From today, all Telugu film shoots have completely stopped, with no clarity on when they will resume.

A series of meetings are scheduled for today to resolve the issue. Meanwhile no actors, directors, or other industry figures have spoken about the matter.

The unions accuse producers of spending crores on actors while neglecting daily wage workers, whereas producers argue that actor payments match current market rates.
