Tollywood in trouble as new Coronavirus variant spreads?

The spreading and an increasing number of the new variant of Coronavirus, Omicron, in the Telugu states, is especially causing Tollywood to worry. Big films have only begun to release in the Telugu states from this month, and there’s a lot at stake in January especially, with 3 big films set to release.

First off, there’s Rajamouli’s much anticipated RRR, featuring NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles, then there’s Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati’s Bheemla Nayak, and then there’s Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam, all of which are made on huge budgets, and a lot to lose if they do not perform well at the box office. So far, the effect of Omicron hasn’t been seen in Tollywood, but makers are afraid that it might increase and cause trouble in the coming days.

While the WHO has certified that Omicron is not fatal, everyone has been advised to stay on their guard and to follow covid precautions to avoid the spreading of the virus. It is now to be seen what sort of implications the Omicron variant will eventually result in.
