Tollywood has been at the forefront when it came to releasing films after the first wave and second wave of the coronavirus pandemic when other industries in the country hesitated to do so. The Telugu film industry even set an example, by delivering successful films, with packed theatres, at that. Tollywood is now once again doing a similar feat.
Pretty every film industry has shut down in the country, when it comes to releasing their films in the theatres, due to the spreading of the Omicron variant of coronavirus in the country. While big films like RRR and Radhe Shyam have been postponed, a slew of films have announced their releases. These include, among others, Bangarraju, DJ Tillu and Rowdy Boys on January 14th; and Hero on January 15th.
While there are speculations that the Telugu states would also call for the shutting down of theatres after Sankranthi, for now, Tollywood continues to go on, while the other industries in the country have shut down.
