TN Chief Minister Felicitates The Elephant Whisperers’ Kartiki Gonsalves

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin felicitated director Kartiki Gonsalves after The Elephant Whisperers won an Oscar.

On Tuesday, MK Stalin, the chief minister of Tamil Nadu, recognized Kartiki Gonsalves, the director of the Oscar-winning short documentary The Elephant Whisperers.

Gonsalves was born and raised in Tamil Nadu, and the film was also filmed there.

During the event, State Chief Secretary V. Irai Anbu was also present.

MK Stalin gave the director, who spent five years filming in the Theppakadu elephant camp in the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve near the Nilgiris, a shawl and a keepsake.

The mahout couple Bomman and Bellie raised the calf elephant “Reghu” in the Theppakadu elephant camp in the Mudumalai Tiger Reserve, which was the subject of the book and movie The Elephant Whisperers.

The life of the indigenous couple, how they raise “Reghu” the elephant, and the affection they show him are all depicted in The Elephant Whisperers. The director also expertly recorded the presence of “Ammu,” another calf elephant.

Under the banner of Sikhya Entertainment, Guneet Monga and Achin Jain produced the Academy Award-winning film.

Since recently visiting the Golden Temple in Amritsar with her Oscar trophy, producer Guneet Monga is also enjoying her significant Oscar triumph. Her spouse Sunny Kapoor and chef Vikas Khanna were also with her.
