TN Box Office: Thunivu Takes over Varisu

In Kollywood, two biggies such as Thunivu and Varisu had a theatrical release amidst high expectations. While Thunivu has Ajith in the lead role, Varisu has Vijay as the hero.

Reports suggest that both films opened to mixed reports from the audience. Meanwhile, the latest we hear is that Thunivu took a clear edge over Varisu when it comes to opening day figures. Reportedly, Thunivu and Varisu generated approximately Rs 23 crore and Rs 19.5 crore on the first day in Tamil Nadu. Will the same trend continues further with Thunivu’s domination or else Varisu take over in the long run? Remains to be seen.

On the other hand, the Telugu dubbing version of Thunivu titled, Thegimpu which had a simultaneous release across twin Telugu states yesterday failed to generate minimum revenues on the opening day.
