The Telugu Film Industry has produced some of the best love stories in Indian cinema, throughout history. However, in the last few years, Tollywood has stuck to and experimented with other genres, putting love stories on the back burner.
With an increased demand for content, love stories are now making a comeback in Tollywood. There are several love stories in the making currently, including Young Rebel Star Prabhas’s Radhe Shyam, which is being made on a massive scale. Sekhar Kammula has a pure love story in the making, in the form of the Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi starrer Love Story.
Then there’s the Sharwanand and Siddharth starrer Maha Samudram, which is being directed by Ajay Bhupati, of RX100 fame. These are just some of the love stories that are benign made in Tollywood currently, as there are many others in the making. While pure love stories are in a shortage currently, there’s no dearth of mixed genres, interlaced with intense love stories. All in all, Tollywood is making a major comeback into the love story genre, and it’s going to be highly interesting to witness this on the big screen.
