Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada Film Industries went for a strike due to increase in VPF charges imposed by DSPs. Producers and distributors JAC, from all the film Industries, decided to take up the matter seriously and exhibitors also shut the theatres to get the right discounted charges that will be amicable to everyone in the business. As the JAC, is about announce that the strike can be called off and open the theatres again, Producer, distributor and exhibitor, Natti Kumar came out and blasted them.

He said, “For whom did they do the strike? What did they achieve? The rates did not come down drastically. Just for 20% discount did they have to cause so much loss to exhibitors. Already because of Spyder and Agnyathavasi, several exhibitors have lost their money. And these bigwigs say, no body should ask them. And they brought in 20% recovery of loss policy. That means exhibitors have to bare 80% loss and producers only 20%?? Will this help anyone in the Industry, expect for bigwigs?”

He further continued, “Pawan Kalyan and Mahesh Babu should come out and ask their producers and distributors if the money has gone to exhibitors or not. An exhibitor committed suicide due to losses of Agnyathavasi. Media reports suggest that producer returned money, hero and director returned money. Then where is that money? What happened to it? There are many irregularities in our Industry and even if they call off strike, Small films that could have benefitted during the week and lost money should play in the theatres and all big films like Rangasthalam should be postponed.” He even abused Suresh Babu and Allu Aravind as the major culprits who are eating away the money of small producers and disrupting the industry.
