R Madhavan is a candidate for president of the FTII, and his movie “Rocketry” just received the National Award for Best Feature Film.
R Madhavan has been proposed as the next president of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), whose movie “Rocketry: The Nambi Effect” just received the National Award for Best Feature Film.
He succeeds acclaimed director Shekhar Kapur, who held the position until September 30, 2020.
Anurag Thakur, the Union Minister for Information and Broadcasting, made the announcement on his X account (formerly Twitter), and he also wished National Award-winning actor R Madhavan well.
Heartiest congratulations to @ActorMadhavan ji on being nominated as President of @FTIIOfficial and Chairman of the governing council. I’m sure that your vast experience & strong ethics will enrich this institute, bring positive changes & take it to a higher level,” Anurag Thakur wrote.
In terms of labour, R Madhavan has joined the biopic of the Indian inventor Gopalswamy Doraisamy Naidu, also referred to as the “Edison of India.” Punnagai Poo Gheetha will play the female lead in the movie, which is being directed by Mithran R. Jawahar.
