This Director’s Entry to Change the Outlook of #AK62

It is widely known that Kollywood star Ajith Kumar’s new film under the direction of Vignesh Shivn was formally announced a few months back. Tentatively titled, AK62, the film was supposed to go on the floors by January end but for the past few weeks, the buzz is circulating among media circles that there might be a change in the director for the film.

As per the reports, noted Tamil director Magizh Thirumeni replaced Vignesh Shivn for #AK62. An official announcement regarding the change of director is likely to be out soon. Meanwhile, the latest news is that yet another noted director PS Mithran who shot to fame with films like Irumbu Thirai(Abhimanyudu in Telugu), Sivakarthikeyan’s Hero, and last Diwali released Karthi’s Sardar is providing story for AK62. Looking at PS Mithran’s past work, the film with Ajith will also have enough social-related elements.

On the other hand, Magizh Thirumeni, the talented director earlier directed thrillers such as Thadaiyara Thaakka, Meaghamann, Thadam, and Kalaga Thalaivan. Lyca Productions is on board to produce #AK62. When Vignesh Shivn was locked for AK62, news came out that the film will have a Mumbai backdrop. Reports also came out that Ajith will be seen as a middle-aged person with two kids in the film. Santhanam and Aravind Swami are also considered for key roles. Whatever might be the reason, the change for the director for AK62 is definitely a lost opportunity for Vignesh Shivn.
