The Warriorr Movie Review and Rating!

The Warriorr starring Ram Pothineni and Kirthi Shetty as the lead pair has hit the silver screens today. Let’s see how it fares.

Story: Satya( Ram Pothineni) a doctor by profession goes to Kurnool to do job at the government hospital. Soon after landing in Kurnool, Satya comes paths with a local goon named Guru( Aadhi Pinnisetty). Later, Satya misses from the action for two years and returns to the same Kurnool town as DSP. How doctor Satya becomes IPS Satya? His main intention behind takes charge as Kurnool DSP? How will Satya takeover Guru? To know that, you have to watch the film in the theatres near you.

Performances: Ram did his part perfectly. While he is cool in the role of doctor, Ram made sure to maintain the consistency as a tough and aggressive cop. His makeover in the milti-dimension role adds weightage to the proceedings.

On the other hand, Aadhi Pinnisetty just nailed it with his body language and dialogue delivery in the given baddie role. He perfectly fitted in the given role as tried to bring depth to the proceedings with his acting in a few key scenes.

Heroine Krithi Shetty is cute on screen and her chemistry with Ram is adorable. While she gave a decent performance in the girl-next-door role, her dance movements with Ram in two songs are impressive. Artists such as Brahmaji, Nadiya, Akshara Gowda gave decent performance in their supporting roles.

Technicalities: The cinematography work by Sujith Vaasudev registers as he captured the rustic flavour in the film with his lens. Editing by Naveen Nooli is fine. While the production design work is good the production values for this limited budget film are okay.

Coming to the music department, Devi Sri Prasad’s songs are passable on screen. On the other hand, he did good job with the background score which elevates a few key scenes.

Analysis: Director Lingusamy’s point of a doctor turning IPS is something which we have never seen in Indian films. The way he designed Ram and Aadhi Pinnisetty characters is good but he would have focused more on inserting authentic action part in this commercial entertainer. If the heavy duty action sequences are incorporated in the narrative, the result would have been unanimous.

Considering the genre, the film is made on a right note but surely Aadhi Pinnisetty seals the show with his attitude and acting as a local goon. To summerize, The Warriorr is an out and out commercial entertainer that has good songs, nice performances but the routine template taking might not get universal approval.

Verdict: Routine but passable action drama!

Rating: 2.5/5
