When it comes to PAN-India star Prabhas, regular box-office rules don’t really apply. His recent film The Raja Saab directed by Maruthi, released in theatres on January 9th.
However the film received negative reviews and failed at the box office. Normally interest in a flop film fades quickly but in Prabhas case the opposite has happened.
Despite the disappointing theatrical run the film’s OTT release has created massive buzz. The Raja Saab begins streaming on Jio Hotstar tonight (February 6th), and fans have been rushing to the platform in large numbers.
Jio Hotstar officially confirmed a huge surge in traffic, with the “Remind Me” feature hitting a historic high. Due to the heavy demand, the platform upgraded its servers to ensure smooth streaming.
This rare trend once again proves that Prabhas popularity goes far beyond box office results and the film now looks set to score big on OTT.
