Advance bookings for Christopher Nolan’s highly anticipated film The Odyssey have opened in India even though the movie is still more than a month away from release.
Currently only a limited number of IMAX shows are available for booking across the country. Surprisingly ticket prices in several cities are lower than many expected.
In Mumbai some theatres are offering tickets starting from around Rs. 450 while premium venues are charging much higher rates.
In Delhi-NCR ticket prices range from Rs. 370 to over Rs. 1,000 depending on the theatre and seat category. Cities like Bengaluru, Kochi, Coimbatore and Kolkata also have varying ticket rates.
Pune has emerged as the most expensive city with some IMAX tickets priced as very much high as Rs. 3,000 for evening shows. More theatres are expected to open bookings soon, and prices may rise further due to dynamic pricing.
