KGF 2 has most certainly beat RRR in terms of the buzz it created post its release. The film is being hailed by everyone, who fell in love with the action entertainer, which provided fans with various high octane moments throughout the two films.
Director Prashant Neel has established himself as someone to look out for, with the KGF franchise, and by accomplishing a rare feat by making a Kannada film so huge in the country. KGF 2 continues to dominate the theatres across India, with Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey opening to very poor numbers in the Bollywood market. In Telugu too, there have been no releases after KGF 2, with the first release about to be Acharya, on the 29th.
KGF 2 has certainly taught a lot of lessons to Indian Cinema, in terms of the kind of content audiences are willing to pay, to watch a movie in theatres. They need a sense of escapism and enthusiasm when they sit in the cinema hall, something that many movies aren’t providing in recent times. With the rise in the number of pan-Indian films, everything is being toned down to appeal to a wider audience, but KGF 2 showed otherwise.
