A little over a week ago we saw the release of the Vipul Shah production The Kerala Story. Starring Adah Sharma the film received mixed responses to its trailer, however based somewhat on true events the business of the film at the box office witnessed a good rate of growth. In fact, after opening on a steady note, the collections of The Kerala Story continued to see growth even on weekdays. Now, currently running on its second weekend in theatres, the film has managed to cross the Rs. 100 crore mark.
Collecting Rs. 19.50 cr on its second Saturday running, The Kerala Story has managed to collect a staggering Rs. 112.99 crore, With this, the film has now emerged as the fourth release of 2023 to make it past the highly coveted Rs. 100 cr mark.
Reportedly, the film now joins previous releases like Pathaan, Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar that have crossed Rs. 100 crore at the box office.
If that was not enough, while the Shah Rukh Khan starrer Pathaan crossed the Rs. 100 cr mark in two days of its release, The Kerala Story which has managed to draw in over Rs. 100 cr in 9 days has surpassed the Salman Khan starrer Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan and the Ranbir Kapoor – Shraddha Kapoor starrer Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar which took 10 and 11 days to cross the Rs. 100 crore
mark respectively.
Needlessly, The Kerala Story becoming the second fastest Rs. 100 crore grosser of 2023 The Kerala Story still continues to run in theatres. In fact, facing little to no opposition’s the business of the film is highly likely to see further growth in its second week. As of now, trade predictions that the business of The Kerala Story will see good growth on its second Sunday, while collections in its second week will continue to hold a steady growth.
