The Kerala Story All Set to Surpass 200 Crore Mark

The Kerala Story hasn’t done much to counteract the competition that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 presented last week.

The Kerala Story had its most successful day to date as it continued to gain momentum on Sunday and brought in a staggering 23 crores* at the box office. The movie made 16.43 crores on Sunday, so for it to surpass that figure one week later, and by a significant margin, is an incredible performance.

Rest confident that the movie would have easily surpassed the 25 crore mark if it had also been showing in West Bengal and Tamil Nadu. On the other hand, the movie has gained so much more attention in the last week that it is drawing in throngs of viewers. This movie, which debuted after Pathaan, is playing to packed houses everywhere, which is a lovely sight.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 presented some competition for the movie last week, but it didn’t really face any opposition over the previous weekend either. The Kerala Story has raked in more than four times as much money as the other recent Bollywood films, which had combined receipts of only about 10 crores.

The movie is now successfully operating as an all-time blockbuster, with a current gross of 136 crores*. It would be fascinating to see if it can maintain a double-digit score today as well. If it does in fact prove to be the case, the movie will have a good chance of grossing over 225 crores.
