Nandamuri Balakrishna has not been able to score a decent success for a couple of years now. His very earnest attempt with his father’s biopic – NTR: Kathanayakudu and NTR: Mahanayakudu – also turned out to be huge disappointments. The actor has been in the need of guaranteed success as a result.
On the other hand, director Boyapati Srinu also tasted the biggest disaster of his life in the form of Ram Charan’s Vinaya Vidheya Rama, which left a bitter taste for everyone involved in the project. After disastrous results for both of them individually, Boyapati and Balakrishna decided to reunite for the third time, after they scored two blockbusters in the past, in the form of Simha and Legend. It is a widely accepted fact that no one can show Balakrishna the way Boyapati can show him, and understandably, the expectations on their third collaboration are massive.
The title announcement teaser of Akhanda received tremendous views on YouTube, further increasing the expectations on the film. Boyapati has now begun shooting for the final schedule of the film, where a massive fight sequence is planned. Akhanda was supposed to release in May, but got delayed due to the second wave of coronavirus, and is now being planned to be released in August. Pragya Jaiswal is the leading lady of the film, while Thaman is the music director.
