Kannada Superstar Upendra is a very well known actor in Tollywood, thanks to his various films in Telugu, during the 90s. He’s a terrific performer, writer and director, who always opts for interesting subjects. The last film Upendra was seen in Telugu, was in Son of Satyamurthy, where he played the antagonist. Post that, despite several rumours and speculations, Upendra was never again seen in Telugu films.
It is now being speculated that Upendra will make his comeback to Telugu films with Akhil Akkineni’s upcoming film with director Surender Reddy. It was previously speculated that Mohanlal would essay this role, but sources now reveal that Upendra is the top contender for the role. This role is said to be of great importance as it is the role of the antagonist of the film, and is said to be written on the lines of Aravind Swamy’s role in Dhruva.
Upendra being a part of this film would garner a lot of interest from audiences and increase the expectations on the film immensely. Interestingly, Upendra is also playing an important role in Varun Tej’s upcoming film Ghani. What his role is, is being kept under wraps, but sources say that it is going to be the highlight of the film. Whether with Ghani or Akhil’s film, Upendra is all set to make his comeback to Telugu films very soon.
