Aryan Khan, son of Shah Rukh Khan, makes his directorial debut with the web series “The Ba***ds of Bollywood”, featuring cameos from top stars. All eyes are on its content and Aryan’s work as a director.

The Ba***ds of Bollywood Web Series Story: Aasmaan Singh (Lakshya) rises to fame with his debut film “Revolver”, quickly becoming the talk of Bollywood. His stardom and attitude keep him in the spotlight, but trouble begins with his second film due to issues with the producer who launched him. Adding to his struggles, former star Ajay Talwar blocks his path in films. What problems did Aasmaan face and why does Ajay oppose him? “The Ba***ds of Bollywood ” reveals the truth.

Performances: Lakshya, who proved his talent with “Kill”, delivers this role with ease and strong screen presence. Bobby Deol impresses again in a negative role, though the twist in his character isn’t very exciting. Raghav Juyal blends comedy and emotion well as the friend. Mona Singh, Manish Chaudhari, and Anya Singh are effective, while Rajat Bedi adds fun with comedy. The series also features numerous cameos that keep it engaging.

Technical Aspects: Technically, the series scores well with rich production design, impressive art work, and good music, giving it the feel of a costly web series. The problem lies in the story. It isn’t fresh, as a similar twist was already seen in Dulquer’s “Solo” (2017), which lessens the excitement, especially for South viewers.

The pacing is another drawback, with seven stretched episodes where many scenes could have been cut. Aryan Khan attempts to prove himself as a stylish filmmaker, but he fails to establish his unique mark or vision. Except for the hero, character development is weak, making the series less impactful overall.

Analysis: The series relies on shock value, but the twist feels reused from earlier shows. Aryan Khan managed to rope in several cameos, though only Emraan Hashmi’s made an impact. Its comic take on Bollywood’s flaws is entertaining, yet beyond those spoofs, the narrative lacks freshness and struggles to hold attention.

Verdict: Stylish but predictable, with good cameos and presentation. Aryan Khan shows promise, but the series ends up as an average watch.

Bottom Line: Star-filled, but lacking fresh impact.

Rating: 2/5
