RK Sagar, known for Mogalirekulu, plays the lead in The 100, directed by debutant. Based on true events, the film won several awards at film festivals. With strong confidence, the team held paid premieres ahead of release. Now, all eyes are on how the audience will receive it.

The 100 Movie Story: Vikrant (R.K. Sagar Naidu) is a top IPS officer who proves his skills during training and becomes a well-known police officer. At the same time, some thefts start happening in Hyderabad. While investigating, Vikrant finds out that a girl named Aarthi is also a victim. But surprisingly, neither she nor her father files a police complaint.

Why didn’t they complain? Who is behind the thefts? What is their goal? And how does Vikrant catch them? These questions are answered in the movie The 100.

Performances: RK Sagar effortlessly played the role of Vikrant. His police look and body language were major strengths, and he impressed in emotional scenes too. Misha Narang delivered a strong performance, handling emotional depth well. Dhanya Balakrishna was decent in a supporting role. Tarak Ponnappa stood out in a negative role, though a better backstory could’ve helped. Kalyani Natarajan, as the mother, was graceful as always.

Technical Aspects: Shyam K. Naidu’s cinematography was decent, and Harshavardhan Rameshwar’s background score supported the film well. However, the production and art work lacked detailing, which is crucial for investigative thrillers. Some key elements felt unrealistic, and better care was needed in color grading.

Director Raghav Omkar Shashidhar added unnecessary commercial elements, which weakened the impact, still he managed to keep the story engaging and convincing overall.

Analysis: The 100 slightly reminds me of Kannur Squad in parts, but stays engaging overall. RK Sagar’s performance, Shashidhar’s direction, and the impactful climax are its strengths. A good pick for those who enjoy realistic thrillers.

Verdict: A decent and engaging thriller with strong performances and a realistic touch. Worth a watch for those seeking something different.

Bottom Line: Realistic thriller with heart and flaws.

Rating: 2.5/5
