Tharun Bhascker comments on reviewers and critics

The young director, Tharun Bhascker, came up with his second film after Pelli Choopulu, Ee Nagaraniki Emaindi, on this Friday. He honestly admitted before the film, that he feels more comfortable in doing what he knows best than trying something he is not fully prepared for. So, he made a medium budget movie with all new actors again. He wrote an open letter about how nervous he was prior to the film release and how the initial screening helped him, to believe in his film, more.

These days, many directors and Telugu film personalities, have started targeting critics and reviewers, using different words to discredit their opinion on the film. Right from the beginning, there was criticism about how a film is, while few shared how entertaining the film was, few shared about what can help a film to be better and what it missed. As the film business increased, criticism also became a popular tool for many to talk about a film’s goods and bads.

Normally, producers and actors, discredit the critic’s opinions as people who just like to have fun poking at others and bringing down their success. But when they see a good appreciative comment from same critics, they share it all over. Tharun Bhascker too turned out to be the same. During Pelli Choopulu, he thanked all the critics for spreading the positive word on his film. Now, he called critics amateurish and wondered how many did film appreciation course. Well, if people to tell their opinion should start basing it on books and some other courses, then can we guarantee a diverse opinion? Won’t it get too uninformed and uni-dimensional with just differences in the presentation?
