Thank You Movie Review and Rating!

Thank You starring Naga Chaitanya and Raashi Khanna as the lead pair has hit the screens today. Let’s see how it fares.

Story: Abhiram( Naga Chaitanya) who has big dreams in life, succeeds with his medical diagnostic app. In the app development process, Abhi gets financial help from Priya( Raashi Khanna). Soon after becoming a successful entrepreneur, Abhi starts ignoring the people around him and turns self-centred and arrogant and due to the same reason, Priya moves away from Abhiram. At one point in time, Abhiram undergoes self-realization and decides to meet the people who helped him in his life journey. Rest of the story deals with what kind of emotional ride Abhiram goes in this soul-searching mission.

Performances: Compared to his previous films, Naga Chaitanya improved a lot in terms of acting in Thank You. His screen presence and the way her carried different emotions with so much ease elevates a few key scenes. The variance in Chay’s multi-dimensional character is a plus for the movie.

Raashi Khanna is okay with her usual acting in the role that is not designed properly. Actress Malavika Nair gave a convincing performance in her limited role.

While Avika Gor is okay in her cameo character, Sai Sushanth Reddy in impressive with his acting in the given key role. Other artists such as Prakash Raj and Eswari Rao are okay in their limited screen time.

Technicalities: The cinematography work by renewed PC Sreeram is major highlight for the film as his brilliant work is visible on screen. The colour texture he used to showcase the entire film is impressive.

Music by Thaman is alright but would have been even better. While most of the songs are situational, his background score works in bits. Editing by Naveen Nooli is alright.

Production values for this limited budget movie are good. A couple of dialogues registers well.

Analysis: Noted writer BVS Ravi has provided story for the film that lacks novelty in it. Most of the time audience feel like watching a mixed flavour of films like Naa Autograph, Premam and Majili.

Most importantly, the presentation by director Vikram K Kumar goes for a toss. His screenplay lacks proper connectivity and falls flat with predictable proceedings. Adding to it, the film looks single point stretched to with routine template narrative.

To summerize, Thank You is a slow-paced life journey of the protagonist which lacks a solid presentation and engaging narration. While Chay’s acting and PC Sreeram’s visuals are major plus for the film, diluted proceedings are a huge demerit for Thank You.

Verdict: Lacks strong emotions!

Rating: 2/5
