Two upcoming Telugu films, “Thandel” and “Matka,” have gained attention due to their unique concepts and star cast. However, Amazon Prime Video is now releasing content that seems to mirror the storylines of these films.
“Arabia Kadali” tells the tale of fishermen from rival villages who end up imprisoned in a foreign jail after trespassing into international waters. Interestingly, this plot resembles a glimpse seen in “Thandel,” where the protagonist, played by Naga Chaitanya, portrays a fishing boat captain imprisoned in a Pakistani jail.
Similarly, “Matka King” on Prime Video features Vijay Varma in a story loosely based on the origins of the Matka gambling mafia, reminiscent of the reported storyline of Varun Tej’s “Matka.”
The release of these series before the films’ premieres may lead to comparisons and potentially affect their box office success. It remains to be seen how these similarities will impact the audience’s reception of “Thandel” and “Matka.”
