Thammudu, starring Nithin and directed by Venu Sriram, was released on July 4th with good expectations, especially as it’s the costliest film in Nithin’s career and produced by Dil Raju. While the trailer created some buzz, the release trailer disappointed, and the film received negative talk from the first show.
As a result, openings were poor, and collections dropped further on the second day. Though the third day saw slight improvement, it was still not enough to meet the target.
Let’s have a look on first weekend collections:
| Nizam | 0.93 cr |
| Ceded | 0.23 cr |
| Uttarandhra | 0.40 cr |
| East | 0.10 cr |
| West | 0.06 cr |
| Guntur | 0.24 cr |
| Krishna | 0.28 cr |
| Nellore | 0.06 cr |
| AP+Telangana | 2.3 cr |
| Rest of India | 0.25 cr |
| Overseas | 0.53 cr |
| World Total | 3.08 cr (share) |
Thammudu did a theatrical business of Rs. 22 crore and needs Rs. 2.5 crore share to break even. In the first 3 days, it collected only Rs. 3.08 crore share and Rs. 5.14 crore gross, it still has to earn Rs. 19.42 crore share to recover.
