Kollywood star Vijay joined forces with director Lokesh Kanagaraj for a film is well-established news. Tentatively titled Thalapathy 67, the film marks the second time association of Vijay and Lokesh Kanagaraj after the 2021 film, Master.
The formal launch of the film happened a couple of days back in Chennai. Stars like Sanjay Dutt, Trisha, Priya Anand, Mysskin, Sandy Master, Action star Arjun, filmmaker-actor Gautham Menon, Mansoor Ali Khan, Malayalam actor Mathew Thomas, Baby Iyal among others are locked for key roles in the movie.
This morning, the cast and crew of Thalapathy 67 left for Kashmir for the first schedule by taking a special flight from Chennai Airport. Meanwhile, the latest we hear is that the team locked LEO as the film’s title with the tagline ‘Bloody Sweet’.An official announcement regarding this came out this evening at 5 PM. A title-revealing promo is also released by the makers in which Vijay is seen as a chocolate Baker and parallelly showcased as a man making weapons to face the baddies. During the end of the promo, the team revealed that Leo will hit the screens on October 19, 2023, in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam languages simultaneously.
It is been reported that the post-theatrical streaming rights of Thalapathy 67 are bagged by digital giant Netflix. Inside reports say that Netflix has offered a whopping Rs 160 crore and bagged the rights. True to our reports, this afternoon the makers officially announced that Netflix is the streaming partner of Thalapathy 67. News also came out that the popular entertainment channel Sun Network has acquired satellite rights of the film.
Said-to-be a gangster drama set in Mumbai backdrop, Anirudh is scoring soundtracks for #Thalapathy67. Lalit Kumar who produced Master will be bankrolling this film as well and is aiming for a Diwali festival release.
