Fake casting calls are increasing in the film industry and many celebrities and production houses have been warning people about them.
The latest warning comes from Kamal Haasan’s Raaj Kamal Films International (RKFI) the banner producing Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Thalaivar 173.
They clearly stated that they do not send casting messages through email, text or social media and they have not hired any casting agents for their films. They also announced that strict legal action will be taken against anyone misusing their name to cheat people.
This is the second time this year that RKFI has issued such a warning, as similar fake messages had spread a few months ago. Since many Kamal Haasan projects are being announced, fraudsters seem to be using RKFI’s name again to gain people’s trust.
This problem is happening across the industry. Neelam Productions, Prince Pictures, and actor Sibi Sathyaraj also warned people about fake casting scams recently.
