Thaggedhe Le directed by Dandupalyam fame Srinivas Raju is out for public viewing today. Let’s see how it fares.
Story: Being a software employee Eshwar( Naveen Chandra) along with his friends go on a jolly trip to Paradise when he crosses paths with a girl named Lizy( Ananya Sengupta). After enjoying the stay, they both decide to say away further. Later, Eshwar marries his relative Devi( Divya Pillai). As a subplot, a cop Chalapathi ( Ravi Shankar) will be tracking the whereabouts of drug peddlers in the city. How is the drug mafia interconnected with Eshwar’s story? What is the role of Lizy in the entire setup? Towards the ending portions, how the notorious Dandupalyam gang lands in the scene, forms crucial crux.
Performances: As usual, Naveen Chandra gave a decent performance in the software employee role. His chemistry with the female leads Ananya Raj and Divya Pillai will be a treat to watch for the youth.
While Ananya Raj is glamorous on screen, Divya Pillai is impressive with her homely looks. The romantic episode between Naveen Chandra and Ananya at Paradise is one of the plus points for the film.
The family scenes between Naveen Chandra and Divya Pillai are executed on a decent note. Ravi Shankar, Raja Ravindra are apt in their cop roles. Their screen presence during the last twenty minutes adds realistic texture to the film.
Dandupalyam gang members Pooja Gandhi, Makarand, Michael among others are dangerous on screen and bring a rustic flavor. Naga Babu, Racha Ravi, Ayyappa Sharma are okay in their limited roles.
Technicalities: Two romantic duets between Naveen Chandra and the female leads composed by Charan Arjun are passable on screen. The background score composed by Chinna elevates the mood of the film during the climax portion.
The cinematography work by Venkat Prasad is apt to the film’s genre. He tried to present the film in a realistic tone. Editing by Garry BH is okay. Fights composed by Venkat are effective. Kiran Kumar Manne’s Artwork is visible on the screen. Production values are fine.
Analysis: Dandupalyam fame Srinivas Raju directs Thaggedhe Le. The director’s thought of incorporating elements like a murder mystery and drug mafia in the plot is good but his execution lacks an effective narration. If the director cum writer would have focused on presenting the film in an engaging manner the result would have been even better.
Except for the last twenty minutes, the entire film lacks a fresh vibe in it. Even though the entry of the Dandupalyam gang brings rustic texture to the screen towards the climax, there is no proper detailing about them. To summerize, Thaggedhe Le is a revenge drama that has ages-old screenwriting and uneven execution. Those who like the Dandupalyam series may give it a try but for others, it’s an unengaging drama.
