Sankranthi festival is not only a big festival for the Telugu public but also for the film industry. During this festival season, every year we witness a minimum of three films coming to the theatres but the real hype is being created when the clash of titans happens at the ticket windows. One such in Tollywood is between Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna will always be a special and most awaited one. Now, we bring you the list of when Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna films had a clash at the box office.
For the first time, both films of Chiranjeevi and Balakrishna had a clash at the box office in 1985. NBK’s Aatmabalam and Chiranjeevi’s Chattamtho Poratam had a clash at the box office in this year. Though both films are flops at the ticket windows, comparatively Chattamtho Poratam had a decent run.
This year Chiranjeevi’s Donga Mogudu and Balakrishna’s Bhargava Ramudu had a clash during the Sankranthi season. While Bhargava Ramudu ended up as a flop, Donga Mogudu was a blockbuster success.
In 1988, Balakrishna’s Inspector Pratap and Chiranjeevi’s Manchi Donga had a clash during the Sankranthi season and both ended up as hit films.
In this year, Balakrishna’s Peddannayya and Chiranjeevi’s Hitler had a clash at the ticket windows and both the films ended as good hits at the box office.
In 1999, Balakrishna’s Samara Simha Reddy and Chiranjeevi’s Sneham Kosam had a box-office clash. While Samara Simha Reddy ended up as an industry hit, Sneham Kosam failed miserably at the ticket windows.
In the year 2000, Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Annayya and Balakrishna’s Vamsoddharakudu had a theatrical release. While Annayya ended up as a hit, Vamsoddharakudu was a flop.
In the year 2001, Balakrishna’s Narasimha Naidu and Chiranjeevi’s Mrugaraju had a theatrical clash. While Mrugaraju ended up as a disaster, Narasimha Naidu ended up as an industry hit.
During this year’s Sankranthi season, Balakrishna’s Lakshmi Nara Simha and Chiranjeevi’s Anji had a theatrical clash. In the clash, Balakrishna scored a super hit with LNS.
During Sankranthi 2017, Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No. 150 and Balakrishna’s Gautamiputra Satakarni had a clash. While Khaidi No.150 ended up as a blockbuster, Gautamiputra Satakarni also was a good hit.
This year during the Sankranthi season, Balakrishna and Chiranjeevi are locking horns for the tenth time with Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya respectively. Have to wait and see which of these crazy films will end up as a super hit at the box office.
