As a Diwali gift to audiences, several new films have released in theatres, and one of them is Telusu Kada starring Siddhu Jonnalagadda in the lead role, with Raashii Khanna and Srinidhi Shetty as the heroines. The film also marks the directorial debut of Neeraja Kona. Lets dive into the review to see how the film fared.

Telusu Kada Story: Varun (Siddhu Jonnalagadda), who grows up as an orphan, is someone who is clear, honest, and values everything deeply. He strongly desires to have a family of his own. After a failed relationship, Anjali Sharma (Raashii Khanna) enters his life. Their bond grows to the point of marriage, but then they discover that one of them cannot have children. At this point, a doctor named Raaga Kumar (Srinidhi Shetty) enters their lives and promises to help them. How does their journey unfold from here? Who is Raaga really, and why did she come into Varun and Anjali’s lives? Does Varun ultimately get the family he always wanted? Why does Anjali decide to leave Varun? Do they reunite? All these questions are answered in the film.

Performances: The biggest highlight of the film is Siddhu Jonnalagadda’s portrayal of Varun. The way the director has designed and presented his role is impressive. His dialogues and some youthful scenes in the first half are quite appealing.

Siddhu delivers a very good performance, bringing out his signature attitude and delivering subtle, emotionally grounded acting where required.

Alongside him, the heroines Raashii Khanna and Srinidhi Shetty also try to leave a mark with their performances.

Raashii Khanna fits her role well and looks glamorous. Her chemistry with Siddhu works effectively.

Srinidhi Shetty also gives a decent performance. Some scenes involving the three main characters may especially appeal to the youth.
Comedian Viva Harsha’ s role as the hero’s close friend adds value, particularly in the fun segments and key emotional moments.

Technical Aspects: The production values are solid. The makers have created a good setup. Thaman’s music is enjoyable, especially the background score which elevates the film. Cinematography and editing are decent. The dialogues also work well.

Analysis: While the core storyline does seem interesting at one point, it isn’t all that new. For regular moviegoers, it might feel quite predictable and flat..The narrative could have been more straightforward.

Even though Siddhu’s character is clear, the surrounding story and interactions with other characters might feel a bit confusing or take time for the audience to connect with.

So, it is hard to say the film will appeal to everyone. Some moments that feel good are quickly followed by regular or familiar sequences, making the overall storytelling feel average.

Also, while Siddhus character is well-defined, you might wonder, what if Raashii Khannas character had the same clarity? Some of these perspectives feel missing.

In the second half, the story reminds one of other marital drama films – though this one tries to be a trendier version.

Coming to director Neeraja Kona, for a debut filmmaker, her work is quite decent. She has designed the main plot and the hero’s role well. However, the way the story unfolds feels a bit mediocre. Overall, her work feels okay – not bad, but could have been better.

Verdict: Overall, Telusu Kada can be seen as a regular rom-com drama with some moments that might appeal to younger audiences. Siddhu’ s role has the potential to connect with youth, but the rest of the story might not connect with all sections of the audience.

Bottom Line: Lacks proper clarity

Telusu Kada Rating: 2.5/5
