Bollywood is seeing more of its Telugu directors in recent times. From Sandeep Reddy Vanga, who with ‘Arjun Reddy‘ delivered his debut film that repeated success with ‘Animal‘ starring Ranbir Kapoor, to Gautham Thinnanuri, who directed the Indian version of ‘Jersey‘, and Rajamouli whose ‘Baahubali‘ trilogy turned him into a Bollywood celebrity, the trend is clear. Puri Jagannadh even went on to dabble in Bollywood with ‘Liger’.
VV Vinayak directed the remake of ‘Chatrapathi’ in Hindi, while Sailesh Kolanu remade his creation ‘HIT’. Now, Prasanth Varma, who made ‘Awe!’ and ‘Hanu-Man‘, is planning a big movie, probably with the name ‘Rakshas’, with Ranveer Singh. Indian filmmaker Gopichand Malineni, who has established himself with main commercial hits, is also about to make his way into Bollywood with a project starring Sunny Deol.
Vamsi Paidipally, director of ‘Maharshi‘ film, is reportedly doing a project with Shahid Kapoor, and Sai Rajesh preparing to remake his Telugu hit ‘Baby’ in Hindi. These directors have already taken the entire film industry by storm, redefining the storytelling and the filmmaking space by providing the audience with a different point of view.
