Telangana Lockdown: A big jolt to the makers of Adipurush

The shooting for hero Prabhas’ mythological drama, Adipurush commenced a couple of months back at a studio in Mumbai. As per the reports, two massive sets are also erected for the film in Mumbai but after shooting for a couple of weeks, the team has halted the shooting due to a sudden spike in Covid-19 cases across Mumbai and Maharashtra.

In the first week of May news came out that the makers have been recreating the same sets at a studio in Hyderabad to resume the shooting soon. But this afternoon, the Telangana government after facing heat from the opposition parties and general public announced that the lockdown will be imposed in the state for the next twelve days with minor relaxations. Now, this news comes as a big jolt to the Adipurush team which is planning to resume the shooting in Hyderabad as early as possible.

While Prabhas will be seen as Lord Rama, Adipurush has Kriti Sanon portraying goddess Sita’s character. Bollywood actors Sunny Singh and Saif Ali Khan will be playing the roles of Laxman and Lankesh respectively in this Om Raut directorial. T-Series banner is bankrolling this pan-Indian film which is aiming for an August 2022 release.
