Vijay Devarakonda became famous as Arjun Reddy. The movie and the character made him one of the most powerful performers of Telugu Cinema. As an upcoming actor he nailed the character and sailed ahead of the competition. Now, he needs a good hit to consolidate himself as a hero with potential market. The actor’s new film, Taxiwala, directed by Rahul Sankritiyan is releasing in May. A teaser of the movie has been released and it is trending on social media.
The actor talked about the movie and he said, “Taxiwala has no resemblance with my earlier films at all. This is a completely different subject from them and also a film that gives you edge of seat thrill ride. I play a guy who is uneducated and wants to make a quick buck by becoming a taxi driver. How that changes him and his story is the key to the film. There is no resemblance with Arjun Reddy and I tried to not make any of my nuances in the character to make people remember Arjun Reddy.”
He talked about Mahanati, Savitri Biopic, and said, “It is a larger than life story of an actress and I am just the part of an ensemble. I did it as a mark of respect for people who gave me my first break and nothing I can say more than that.” And he also revealed that he got Nota script, in Tamil, to make it as a Telugu movie. “Nota in its original Tamil seemed more contemporary than trying to make it in Telugu. So, I decided to push myself and do that film in Tamil. Later, the team decided to make it in Tamil and Telugu, which made it easy for me to understand and emote,” said the actor. He also teased that there could be a sequel to Arjun Reddy and he is bouncing ideas with Sandeep Reddy.
