Tatvam is one of the films released on October 2nd. Dinesh Tej, known for Husharu and Play Back, plays the lead role. The film arrived without much promotion. Here’s a look at whether Tatvam has enough to impress the audience.
Tatvam Story: In Ramapuram village, a couple is murdered, and everyone suspects their son. Kalyan Tej (Dinesh Tej), an Eluru constable who visits the village for a marriage proposal, is asked to investigate the case. Though he initially believes the villagers, Soumya (Dhashvika Kinthali) encourages him to dig deeper.
Kalyan soon faces several challenges while searching for the truth. Who killed the couple, and how does their son escape suspicion? Can Kalyan solve the case and get promoted to SI? The film revolves around these questions.
Performances: Dinesh Tej gives a settled performance and looks good as a police officer, but the writing doesn’t offer him enough strong scenes. Dhashvika looks good but needs to improve her acting. Kittayya impresses with his dialogue delivery, while Pramodini and the rest of the cast are decent.
Technical Aspects: Tatvam starts with an interesting murder episode, but the investigation lacks excitement and the narration is slow. The villain reveal and superstition angle work well, but they are not enough to make the thriller engaging.
Unnecessary songs further affect the flow. Technically, the film is weak, with poor production values, background score, dubbing and editing.
Analysis: Tatvam has a good basic idea, but the direction feels lazy apart from the first 15 minutes and the twist-revealing episode. The lack of an engaging screenplay makes the film a wasted opportunity.
Verdict: Tatvam has a promising concept and a few good moments, but the slow narration and weak screenplay make it a disappointing thriller.
Bottom Line: A Thriller That Lacks Thrills.
