“Tarla” is now available to stream on Zee5. The Piyush Gupta-directed movie, which stars Huma Qureshi and Sharib Hashmi, provides insight into Tarla’s life and her rise to fame as a result of her cookbook.

Story: The film begins with the college life of Tarla (Huma Qureshi), a middle class girl who dreams big, wants to make it big in life, but gets married in between. Tarla gets married to Nalin (Sharib Hashmi), who is an engineer by profession.

Now the story moves forward about how a college going girl learns to cook after marriage, and starts cooking in such a way that she becomes an example for the people. Then Tarla opens a cooking class, but Tarla has to stop this class. What happened after this, how Padma Shri Tarla Dalal became Aam Tarla, watch Tarla Dalal on ZEE5 to know!

Performances : Huma Qureshi has always won hearts with her acting be it ‘Monica Oh My Darling’ or ‘Double Axel’ or ‘Badlapur’. Like every time, Huma is winning hearts with her acting this time too. Huma plays the character of Tarla Dalal. Her acting is really commendable.

Huma’s father himself owns a restaurant chain so it must have helped Huma to play the role of a cook as she has been watching food being prepared since childhood. She lived it herself and today she is also telling people on screen that cooking is also an art. Sharib’s acting is also very good, he played the role of an ideal husband who is supporting his wife. The rest of the cast has also done a good job.

Technicalities: This film is directed by Piyush Gupta, Piyush has written films like ‘Chhichhore’ and ‘Dangal’. This film has also been written and directed by Piyush. Piyush has really done a great job, Piyush deserves praise for how he portrayed a simple story on screen.

Instead of adding a nuanced touch to his narration, Piyush Gupta opts for simplification. The movie is not, however, in any way inadequate. It is really straightforward and feels just as comforting as a simple home-cooked meal. He keeps the story enjoyable and upbeat. Things only start to become a touch melodramatic towards the conclusion, but Gupta maintains his grip on the story.

Analysis : The film ‘Tarla Dalal’ is a simple and good story, after watching this film people will say that such a good film has come after a long time. From acting to direction in the film is very good. Huma and Sharib have won hearts with their acting.

The dialogues have been written very well to make the film effective, like in one scene Sharib says that in this country people consider women as Lakshmi but draw Lakshman Rekha in front of the house. In one scene, Huma says, ‘Cooking is considered a job, but in reality it is an art’. The dialogues of the film are very meaningful. The companionship of husband and wife is really well shown in the film. If there is a slight deficiency in the film, then it would be its music part. At the beginning of the film, it took time to make the plot, due to which the first 20 minutes became a bit slow.

Verdict: Overall, this film must be seen once so that those who think that cooking is not just a job, it is an art. At the same time, it should also be seen by those who feel that life is being spent in the kitchen only.
