Chicago sex racket has rocked the Telugu associations in US and also, added few more shades of Grey to already blackened Telugu Film Industry, with nepotism, favoritism and casting couch, sexual harassment of women at work, issues. The US Homeland security is pursuing the prostitution charges on Telugu immigrants, Kishan Modugumudi and his wife, Chandra Modugumudi, very seriously. US Consulate has even stopped issuing visas to new applicants, who on the grounds of B1/B2 apply for a visa to visit the country and perform at Telugu associations events.

Mainly, TANA, Telugu Association of North America, has been targeted by few media channels. So, TANA has come out to issue a clarification about the whole issue. TANA president-elect, Jayashankar said, “We at TANA are committed to working for the growth of Telugu communities and their well-being in USA and North America. We are a popular and esteemed organization who are conducting cultural events and many awareness programs for the well-being of Telugu communities everywhere in the World. We do not encourage such activities and even Homeland security officials have specified that the letters produced by Kishan are fraudulent and TANA, did not give any authorization. So, we request people to not believe the naysayers and trust our association that is committed to service and grows healthy culture among the ever-growing Telugu Community around the globe.”

Satish Vemana, from TANA, also said the same and asked people to not believe in the fraudulent claims. Well, Telugu Film Industry, is now seen as a hub for such shameful activities with the recent issues. It is important for our Industry to come out and clean the image, as soon as possible.
