Talk: Samantha to resume Shaakuntalam’s shoot soon

Senior filmmaker Gunashekhar’s ambitious pan-India project, Shaakuntalam went on the floors earlier this year. Starring Samantha and Malayalam actor Dev Mohan in the lead roles, the film has already wrapped up 50% of its shooting. In the month of May, the shooting was stalled due to lockdown across the Telangana state.

Now, the latest news is that Gunashekhar is planning to resume the film’s shooting from the first week of July. Reportedly, Samantha will also be joining the sets at the same time.

Being bankrolled by Gunashekhar’s daughter Neelima Guna, Shaakuntalam is a mythological drama set in the Himalayas but a major portion of the production is being completed using computer graphics. Dil Raju is presenting the movie.
