Two big Tollywood films in the form of Veera Simha Reddy and Waltair Veerayya had a theatrical release during the Sankranthi season. While VSR was released on January 12th, Waltair Veerayya was released on January 13th.
Mythri Movie Makers banner bankrolled and released both the films through third parties across twin Telugu states. VSR had a vast release on its first day but from the second day most of the screens of VSR are allocated to Waltair Veerayya as a part of pre-agreements.
On January 14th, Dil Raju’s production venture Vaarasudu had a theatrical release which in turn effected the screen count of VSR in most of the areas. Even the prime time US shows are allocated to Waltair Veerayya by the overseas distribution channel.
Reportedly, Balakrishna fans are upset with the screen count of VSR during the festival days and approached the film director Gopichand Malineni to talk with the production house and allocate good screens to VSR. Meanwhile, the inside reports suggest that even after getting request from the director, the production house is in no mood to handle the situation and for the same reason Gopichand Malineni is unhappy with the production house.
If the above scenario is to be believed, will Gopichand take the issue to Balakrishna’s notice? Remains to be seen.
