Swastika Mukherjee Takes On A Bold New Role

Known for her performances in Qala, Paatal Lok and Detective Byomkesh Bakshy!, Swastika Mukherjee has signed the lead role in an Indo-American film titled Chheledhora. The shoot will begin on March 1st in Itanagar and Ziro in Arunachal Pradesh.

The film is directed by Shieladitya Moulik whose recent film Surjo was a theatrical success.

In Chheledhora, Swastika plays Brishti a divorced and flawed woman who takes her daughter out for a birthday without permission.

Things go wrong when the child is actually kidnapped. The story follows Brishti’s emotional and unexpected journey as she tries to fix her mistake.

The film mixes family drama, thriller elements and dark humour.
