Suriya’s next to opt for a direct-to-OTT release?

Tamil star Suriya’s 40th project under the direction of acclaimed director Vettrimaaran went on the floors recently. Titled, Vaadi Vaasal, the film is said to be a rural village based revenge drama with the traditional Jallikattu backdrop.

Meanwhile, the latest buzz circulating among film circles is that noted OTT streaming platform Amazon Prime Video has bagged the streaming rights of the film. Inside reports reveal that Amazon Prime management bagged the streaming rights by offering Rs 50 crore. If the news turns into reality eventually, Vaadi Vaasal will be Suriya’s direct-to-OTT release after Soorarai Pottru and Jai Bhim.

Being bankrolled by Kalaippuli S Thanu, Vaadi Vaasal has its music by GV Prakash Kumar. Suriya plays the dual roles of a father and son in this intense drama.
