Suriya slams exhibitors who opposes OTT release!

Actor Suriya started his own production house, 2D Entertainment as he did not want all the pressure to be put on his friend/Brother-in-law, K.E. Gnanavelraja and Studio Green with his movies not being hits at box office. He wanted to try stories that he loves to tell without putting producers in risk. He started producing different films with Jyothika in lead roles and even his brother, Karthi as a lead. He produced his own films 24 and Soorarai Pottru/Aakasam Nee Haddu Raa as lead too.

Now, Exhibitors and distributors banned his films as he decided to go for Pon Magal Vandhal, his film with Jyothika as lead for direct OTT release on Amazon Prime Video. 30 producers came in support of the actor and issue is going on in Tamil Film Chamber. But Suriya to press confirmed that he doesn’t want to budge for any pressure. He said that it is his Business and his production house. He will do whatever he likes to do with it as no one came to him when his film earned profits and handed over him overflows.

He said that when they cannot give him share in overflows how can I be responsible for their losses. He said that he has loans worth of 70 crores and it is important for him to return that money or pay off them than just think about losses of others who never think about his losses as a producer.
