Suresh Babu Leads Key Film Chamber Discussions

The percentage system issue has created strong discussions between Tollywood producers and exhibitors.

To resolve the problems, the Film Chamber, under the leadership of D. Suresh Babu formed an 18 member committee that includes six producers, six distributors, and six exhibitors. The panel has already held two meetings to discuss the matter and find possible solutions.

One major relief for the industry is that Ram Charan’s upcoming film “Peddi” is unlikely to be affected by the issue for now.

However, exhibitors are demanding that the percentage system should begin with “Peddi”, even if the percentage is kept low initially. On the other hand, producers are requesting exemptions for some big-budget films because huge investments have already been made.

Since the first rounds of discussions did not lead to a final decision more crucial meetings are expected to take place soon at the Film Chamber in Hyderabad.
