Superstar Krishna is known for his daring and dashing steps taken during many instances in life. He is the hero who always used to think and extended support to fans whenever needed. The 79-year-old Krishna did 345 films in his film career. In his 50 years long career, Krishna did many experiments as an actor, director and producer. At the age of 69, Krishna announced his retirement from films and politics.
Getting into the details of Krishna’s life story, Ghattamaneni Sivarama Krishna Murthy is born on May 31, 1943. His parents are Raghavayya and Nagaratnamma in Burrepalam village near Tenali in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh. On March 31.03.1965, Krishna made his silver screen debut with Thene Manasulu. For his first film, Krishna took Rs 500 as his remuneration. Before entering the film industry, Krishna was married to Indira Devi.
For his 100th movie, Krishna did Alluri Seetharama Raju. It was the first Cinemascope film in Telugu. For the song Telugu Veera Levara, the movie got the first National award. Later, for his 200th film, Krishna did Eenadu film. Telugu Veera Levara was Krishna’s 300th project. 2016 released, Sri Sri was Krishna’s 345th film. Krishna did is the first Cowboy film, Mosagallaku Mosagadu. The first 70 MM film, Simhasanam is also done by Krishna.
Krishna used to work three shifts daily. From Morning 7 to afternoon 1 PM one shift, 2 PM to night 9 another shift, and from 10 PM to early morning 2 AM the third shift used to be. He created a unique record by working round the clock for many years. This is the reason, he is the only hero who acted in 345 films.
Though Krishna made Mosagallaku Mosagadu by taking inspiration from the English movie, Mackenna’s Gold, the foreign audience watched Mosagallaku Mosagadu just to witness Krishna’s acting skills. Mosagallaku Mosagadu was released in the English language as The Treasure and was a box office hit. The film was even dubbed in Greece language and got good applause there also.
In many interviews, Krishna said Senior NTR is his favorite hero. In the current generation, excluding Mahesh Babu, Krishna likes Nagarjuna very much. Krishna is quite impressed with the way Nagarjuna did films like Annamayya, and Sri Ramadasu apart from the social pictures.
Krishna is known for his wide range of charity work. For the people who died in ‘Jai Andhra’ agitation, Krishna gave the first-day collections of his movie, Manchi Vallaki Manchuvadu. Apart from it, Krishna gave a good amount of money to people who are in needy many times. He donated lakhs of rupees when natural calamities happened in Andhra districts.
