The Karnataka multi-crore investment fraud case has taken a new turn with the state CID reportedly issuing notices to actress Sunny Leone for questioning.
According to few of the reports, investigators are examining financial transactions linked to the upcoming Kannada film Champion in which Sunny Leone appeared in a special song. She is said to have received around Rs. 1 crore for her performance.
The investigation is part of an alleged Rs. 2,400 crore investment scam that has attracted significant attention.
Officials are tracing the flow of funds to understand whether any money from the fraud was used in film related payments.
However sources have clarified that Sunny Leone has not been named as an accused in the case. The CID only wants to record her statement and verify the source of the funds connected to her remuneration.
