Sunil Varma, the used to be comedy rock star changed his path into a serious lead actor after the success of Maryadaramanna. The movie directed by S S Rajamouli was a proof for both the hero and the director that the hero can be considered mainstream while the director can make small and medium budget comic capers too.Since the grand success, Sunil saw his films Thadakha with Naga Chaitanya, Mr. Pellikoduku and Poola Rangadu became hits at the box office. Since Tadakha his career graph has seen a dip with his movies like Krishnastami, Bhimavaram Bullodu turning out to be disasters at the box office. Krishnastami had to go through lot of delays before the release.
