Suniel Shetty recently discussed the online community’s demands for Farhad Samji to be fired from Hera Pheri 3 in a chat.
After much conjecture and controversy around Hera Pheri 4, everything finally fell into place. We are happy that Suniel Shetty, Akshay Kumar, and Paresh Rawal are back again as the legendary trio. However, a petition to have Farhad Samji removed from the movie also appeared on Twitter once it was revealed that he was the film’s director. Suniel Shetty has finally broke the ice and shared his perspective on the matter.
For the uninitiated, a promo for the third installment of the cult favourite comedy-drama Hera Pheri has already been shot with Suniel as Shyam, Akshay as Raju, and Paresh as Babu Bhaiya. When Farhad’s film Pop Kaun? was made available on Disney+ Hotstar, online users began to demand that he be fired from Hera Pheri 4.
Now, Suniel Shetty recently discussed the fury of Twitter users about Farhad Samji being the director of Hera Pheri 3 in an interview. He spoke, , “Twitter is a relevant medium but I also believe that everybody brings their luck, their destiny, their efforts into a project. I have never worked with him (Farhad Samji) as a director but I know him as a very good writer and when the team believes that he is fine, you go with the team.”
In the same interview, Suniel Shetty also discussed whether Akshay Kumar was to blame for the film’s 16-year delay and made it clear that it wasn’t his responsibility. For those who don’t know, the movie will start filming in the middle of 2023. It will be filmed all over the world, including in cities like Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Los Angeles.
Priyadarshan directed the first film, which was released in 2000. The audience was stirred by the zany comedy movie, a Hindi adaptation of the Malayalam smash Ramji Rao Speaking, and they demanded a sequel. Subsequently, in 2006, the late Neeraj Vora’s film Phir Hera Pheri, which drew inspiration from the Hollywood classic Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, was released.
Now all that’s left to do is wait a little bit longer for Hera Pheri 4. What do you anticipate seeing when the renowned trio reunites?
