Suniel Narang Steps Down From Telangana Film Chamber

Several dramatic developments happened in the Telugu film industry on Tuesday night. Suniel Narang resigned as President of the Telangana Film Chamber of Commerce saying decisions were not being taken unanimously.

Earlier, the Telugu Film Chamber released a press note saying all issues regarding Peddi release had been resolved. Producers agreed to give exhibitors 7.5% from increased ticket prices and also accepted special rent for premiere and benefit shows.

During meetings, Andhra exhibitors agreed quickly, but Telangana exhibitors, represented by Suniel Narang, wanted the percentage system finalized before Peddi release.

Dil Raju and Suresh Babu reportedly said more discussions were needed. Later, the press note was leaked, creating further tension.

Reports say exhibitors are demanding a better revenue-sharing formula while producers are unwilling to increase their share too much. A 75-25 or 70-30 formula is likely.
