What Happened to Welcome Actor Mushtaq Khan?

Mushtaq Khan’s business partner, Shivam, disclosed to India Today that the actor was allegedly kidnapped, and a ransom of Rs 1 crore was demanded by the kidnappers. They forcibly withdrew Rs 2 lakh from the actor’s and his son’s bank accounts. His business partner further revealed that Mushtaq was physically and mentally tortured during his 12-hour captivity. In the early hours, after hearing the Azaan, he escaped, believing a mosque was nearby. He then sought help from locals and contacted the police to return home.

In an interview with India Today, the comedian’s business partner Shivam said, “Mushtaq sir and his family were completely shaken over what happened with him. However, he was always sure that he would file an FIR after he composed himself. Yesterday, I went to Bijnor and filed an official FIR. We have proof of the flight ticket, the bank accounts and even CCTV footage near the airport. He also recognises the neigbhourhood, even the house where he was kept. I think the police team will surely get the culprits soon.”

On behalf of Mushtaq, Shivam traveled to Bijnor to file the FIR and presented crucial evidence, including flight tickets, bank transaction details, and CCTV footage near the airport. Meanwhile, Mushtaq shared key details about the neighborhood and the house where he was held captive to assist the police in catching the culprits.

Further, the actor told Times of India that there was nothing to suspect initially, as the kidnappers had transferred him an advance payment for his performance and had even sent a car to pick him up. However, soon after reaching Meerut, a group of men transferred him to another car, where they allegedly forced him to transfer Rs 7.5 lakh after negotiations. They also gave him Rs 20,000 to book a flight back to Mumbai. The comedian explained, “They promised to pay the ransom once they found jobs.” He later filed an FIR at the Santacruz Police Station after reaching Mumbai safely.

Mushtaq Khan is currently coping with the traumatic incident and will address the media soon.
